Aslan DK 4 is a high-quality, double-sided self-adhesive, transparent PVC film that is ideal for mounting or laminating prints, plans or maps. Both sides of the film are provided with cover material: one side with silicone paper (check printing, 67 g/m²), the other with orange LDPE film (60 g/m²). This makes the film very easy to handle, it lies relatively flat and can be easily cut to size by hand.
The special feature of the DK 3 is the two different adhesive sides: The checkered printed paper-covered side initially has a delayed initial adhesion of 2.5 N during processing, allowing you to correct and adjust during application. After about a week, the adhesive strength increases to approx. 4 N. The orange film side has an initial adhesive force of 1.5 N, which increases to 4 N after 1 week. Despite the fact that after one week the adhesive force is approximately the same as on the reverse side, the side covered with film remains easier to remove in the longer term.
Thanks to the pH-neutral polyacrylate adhesive, the film is also suitable for sensitive prints, it is low odor and solvent-free. DK 4 is particularly suitable for temporary applications such as fixing on milling tables, as it can be removed without leaving any residue. The temperature resistance in the bonded state ranges from -30 °C to +80 °C. However, it should not be used at temperatures below 15 °C.
In some applications, the DK-4 has similar processing properties (at least on one side) to the DX-1 from X-Film, which is unfortunately no longer available, and is therefore recommended by us as a replacement.
