The Faber-Castell pencil sharpener is a manual crank-operated sharpener for standard graphite and colored pencils with a diameter of up to 8.4 mm. Instead of turning the pencil yourself, as you would with a simple manual sharpener, you insert it into the sharpening opening and turn the cutting mechanism using the hand crank. This makes it especially easy to sharpen several pencils in a row.

Inside, a metal cutting mechanism removes wood and lead as it rotates. An automatic stop function limits the sharpening process as soon as the desired point is reached. This means you don’t have to guess when the pencil is sharpened enough, and you avoid unnecessarily removing wood and lead. The shavings produced during sharpening land directly in the large collection container.
