The soft silky lustre surface gives this coated Lefa the appearance of a very fine smooth leather. It can be processed much the same as the uncoated Lefa: i.e., sewn, riveted, glued, stamped and embossed. Because the material is a relatively thick app. 2 mm it is not suitable for making sharp bends or edges; it is rather intended for use in work of a courser nature or in larger sizes. It can be used well in the production of book covers, bags, and cases as well as portfolios and belts. Its soft but sturdy surface makes it a good material for writing pads although it should be noted that when pressed hard the pen will leave marks in the coating.
