The different caps (heads) are for doing different types of tasks:

Super Skinny: even, fine lines, precise edges

Smooth Soft: softer lines with soft edges. Good for large fading techniques and tags as well as medium sized surfaces

Calligraphy: wide jet nozzles (no circular section jet image), adjustable, no punctual paint application but rather line-shaped that when moved around can fill larger areas

Super Fat: wide spray angle, diffuse edges

After use of any of these caps the can should be turned upside-down and the stem (riser tube) activated until all remaining paint is blown out (i.e., until the escaping gas is clear!). This will prevent the jet (nozzle) from clogging!
