These refills write with a fluidity and softness - the colours may not be as intense as those of other rollerball pens but that is not the priority set for the Fixion series of rollerball pens made by the Japanese manufacturer Pilot. Frixion is a rewriting of "friction" whereby this name kind of refers to the fact that any writing can be easily erased (rubbed out, if you will). The rubbing is done with the rubber eraser found at the back end of the pen, an eraser that practically does not wear down with use. Any erasing work on most substrates will be practically residue-free. 

The writing basically disappears at a friction-caused temperature of 60°. But note the reverse effect as well! The writing will show back up if you put it in a freezer at a temperature of ca. -10°C !!! Why it´s almost magic!
