Configurate your Y table

Configurate your Y table

Robust, yet humble. These two differences combine in a wonderful way with the scaled-down, elegant Y table series made of high-quality materials. The construction of the table frame, made of powder-coated steel or solid wood, ensures great stability.

The slanted table legs are equally resilient and delicate. They fit unobtrusively under the high-quality melamine, HPL or linoleum tabletop and give it a floating expression. Only from a greater distance or by looking under the table does the sophisticated interplay of tabletop and frame become apparent.

Versatile & customizable

With over 150 million variants, the Y table series is extraordinarily multifaceted and flexible. With its clear yet refined design vocabulary, it is just as suitable for the classic architectural office as it is for your studio or dining room.

Robust & elegant

Due to its construction, the sturdy Y table frame has a maximum surface load of 150 kg. The centrally positioned table frame provides stability; the mounted, refined table legs seem to make the table top float.

Transportable & stable

Our Y tables are also equipped with adjustable feet that provide stability on uneven floors. If you move to a new location, you can simply disassemble your Y table into its components.

Stable construction

Stable construction

Usually, the sides of a table are visible along the outer edges of the table top. With Y tables, the table frames are invisible in the center below the table top, connected to the table legs in the form of a Y. They draw their strength and their almost floating appearance from this construction.

FAQ

Stable, reliable, and with a high standard of material and design. Discover the Y table series with its endless possibilities and configure yours today. We have put together a list of helpful tips to assist you.

General

Directly on the right-hand side, above the selection menu, you have the possibility to view the tables of the Y series that are quickly available. Choose your desired configuration and look forward to your new Y table being delivered in a just few days.

If you have already started your configuration and want to finish it at a later time, you can save it and bring it back up later. Click on "Save Draft" at the bottom of the Configurator tool and enter your e-mail address. The configuration sent to you by e-mail can be resumed at any time.

If you are a business customer and are interested in ordering several tables, our B2B team will be there to help. Below the 3D presentation, you have the possibility to submit a request to the team, and they will respond as soon as possible.

Table Top

In general, table top lengths below 130 cm can only be combined with table top widths of 80 cm or more. In contrast, table top widths below 80 cm can only be selected with table top lengths of 130 cm or more. The maximum table size of the Y tables is determined by the respective maximum dimensions of the table tops.

Both melamine and linoleum table tops can be fitted with a veneer made of real wood or ABS plastic. ABS plastic veneer is the same color as the selected color of the table top.

When choosing a linoleum tabletop, the color of the ABS veneer is always the same as the selected table top color. When choosing a melamine table top, the table top color and the color of the plastic veneer can be combined at will.

Instead of an edge banding made of real wood or ABS plastic, you can also opt for a finely sanded tabletop edge. This option is available if you choose a linoleum or HPL tabletop. The sanded core of the tabletop can be made of multiplex birch or of a high-quality and moisture-repellent medium-density fibreboard (VALCHROMAT) in grey or anthracite.

The option of a 25° bevelled tabletop edge is available if you choose a linoleum or HPL tabletop with a sanded tabletop edge. The sanded tabletop core is optionally made of multiplex birch or of a high-quality and moisture-repellent medium-density fibreboard (VALCHROMAT) in grey or anthracite. Sanded board edges can be straight or bevelled at an angle of 25°. The bevelled edge supports the filigree, almost floating appearance of the table top.

If you choose a linoleum or HPL tabletop, you can give it a corner radius of your choice. If you want a tabletop with a lipping made of real wood or ABS plastic, your tabletop can have a standard 3 mm radius. Unfortunately, the 25 mm radius and the 50 mm radius cannot be realised with a real wood or plastic edge banding. If you choose a sanded tabletop edge instead of an edge banding, you have the choice between a 3 mm, 25 mm or 50 mm corner radius.

Table frame

The table height of either 75 cm or 100 cm is made up of the height of the table frame and the thickness of the table top. The frame itself has a height of 71 cm (table at seat height) or 97 cm (high table). All table tops with edge banding are 3 cm thick. Linoleum table tops with sanded multiplex edges are 2.6 cm thick and with sanded MDF edges 2.1 cm thick. HPL tabletops have a thickness of 2 cm as an MDF version and 1.9 cm or 2.5 cm as a multiplex model. Accordingly, the total table height - depending on the tabletop - is between 72.9 cm or 98.9 cm and 74 cm or 100 cm. In the configurator, we have rounded these values to 75 cm or 100 cm.

After you have configured your table top, you can choose between different table frames under "Legs". The default height of a Y table is 75 cm. These are tables at seat height. Instead of a table height of 75 cm, you have the possibility to opt for a table height of 100 cm ... and there you have it, a bar table.

If you only need a table frame, enter the length and width of your existing tabletop under "Dimensions". These measurements are essential, as the size of the table frame is based on the size of the table top. Then navigate to "Table top" and select "None". Now you can configure your preferred frame under "Legs".

All table legs of the Y table frames are tilted by at least 10°. This inclination ensures the floating effect of the tabletop and gives the sturdy table its lightness. When selecting a table leg from round tubing, the angle of inclination is not 10°, but 20° (slightly angled) or 30° (sharply angled). These two more tilted table leg variants not only make the table lighter, but they also look really dynamic.

Steel-tube chair Comeback 041, stackable
Steel-tube chair Comeback 041, stackable
from 195,00 €
Comeback is a classic stackable steel-tube chair, millions of which could be found in the DDR under the name “Modell 3101” – it was used for seating in large spaces, in restaurants, casinos, campus dining halls, canteens as well as for private furnishings. In those days, however, the seat and the backrest were made from pressboard covered with imitation leather. For a number of years L&C Stendal have been producing this time-tested model again but this time with technical improvements – all of which have contributed to the model’s “Comeback”. The inelaborate and functional appearance of the Comeback and the fact that it was made by the long-established steel tube manufacturing company L&C Stendal with its tradition of high quality and was being offered at a very attractive price led us to embrace the Comeback in our product line. The furniture manufacturer L&C Stendal has a long tradition in Germany. In 1889, Louis Arnold, an iron dealer, and his son Carl founded the iron furniture factory L.&C. Arnold in Stendal which, beginning in 1926, specialized in the production of garden furniture and bed frames and developed into the leading steel tube manufacturer in Europe. The foldable garden chair No. 2 was an especially popular best seller, one that even today is considered a true classic among beer garden chairs. In 1927 L.&C. Arnold displayed at the Werkbund (Work Federation) Exhibition “The Domicile” in Stuttgart a “device” designed by Mart Stam and manufactured by Arnold: the first chair without hind legs (cantilever chair). A close relationship developed in those years between Stendal and the designers from the Bauhaus School with the result that many of those designs were produced by Stendal. After 1945, the factory in Stendal was called “VEB STIMA”; it manufactured chairs, tables and beds for the DDR market and for export. After Germany reunited, the company concentrated more and more on the production of Bauhaus furniture classics and expanded that program with the “Stendal Collection” in which re-editions from the 1950´s as well as new designs were manufactured with the same demands for quality and consistent design that had always been its hallmark.

Modulor office swivel chair
Modulor office swivel chair
from 549,00 €
A healthy posture when sitting at work is the main concern of the Modulor office swivel chair. It corresponds to the office chair norm DIN 68877 and proudly displays the GS (Proven Safety) symbol. You can be assured of long term use by two guarantees: a general one for 5 years as well as a replacement parts guarantee for 10 years. The Modulor office swivel chair is built according to a modular construction system comprising of a star-shaped base, a gas-filled telescopic strut, a seat support that includes the adjustment mechanism and the two seat pans. All parts are designed to be screwed or plugged into place and, if necessary, can be easily and separately replaced. The castors provided are soft for use on hard flooring. The ergonomic construction of this office swivel chair promotes so-called “dynamic seating”, which means that, because of its adjustable elements, it is possible to change your sitting posture often, which has the advantage that unilateral stresses on muscles or intervertebral discs can thereby be reduced. The “dynamics” consist of the weight-dependent adjustable backrest adjusting itself to the various sitting postures so that it moves with the upper body and thereby provides effective support for the spinal column. The backrest can of course be locked into place at any position one might desire. Furthermore, the fact that the seat can also be adjusted to various inclinations (tilts) allows the optimum body opening angle of at least 90° to be retained at any working position. This has the advantage of, for instance, reducing the upper thigh stress during work. Because of its distinct and low-key design, the Modulor office swivel chair works very well as the desktop chair for the Modulor Table Systems and can also be enhanced by ordering the cushion for office swivel chair.

Modulor linoleum tabletop, bevelled edge, 50mm corner radius
Modulor linoleum tabletop, bevelled edge, 50mm corner radius
from 460,00 €
What color to choose? To make the decision easier, have a look at our table linoleum color samples. Stylish tabletops with linoleum coating. Exceptional haptics (feel) and two elegant material combinations: MDF tabletop core with Linoleum coating in anthracite or multiplex tabletop core with Linoleum coating in vapour. Our high quality linoleum tabletop with the bevelled edge has an edge bevel of about 25°. This special edge, which is also called a chamfer, angles down on the underside of the tabletop all the way to the middle. This accords the tabletop an elegant, intricate and less bulky appearance despite its great sturdiness. When used in combination with, e.g., a Y table frame, this linoleum tabletop looks noticeably thinner from a distance and seems to be almost hovering! The rounded tabletop corners, which have a radius of 50 mm, underpin the tabletop´s reduced chamfer design and prevent you from bumping into a sharp corner or becoming snagged. This is an invaluable advantage if the table is to also be used by children. The Format, Colour and Core of Your Choice You can customize your linoleum tabletop with bevelled edges by not only choosing your desired format but also by selecting from 21 different colours of linoleum and 4 different types of tabletop cores.   Linoleum – A unique and durable tabletop surfacing material   Linoleum is made from renewable raw materials such as wood, granulated cork, linseed oil and jute. Its homogeneous, matte but nevertheless non-slip surface is perfect for drawing or writing.  The material feels good to the touch, has anti-bacterial and antistatic properties and conducts electricity (its bleeder and contact resistance is between app. 109 and 1010 Ω). Because of these attributes, linoleum covered table tops are perfect for use in the therapeutic and technical realms. On top they make great writing tables but can be used as shelving or kitchen counters as well (short-term heat-resistance up to 70°C ).A Valchromat or Multiplex core You can choose a Linoleum coating with a tabletop core made of exquisite fully coloured MDF – so called Valchromat – both in anthracite. The noble alternative is a Linoleum coating in vapour with a classic multiplex core made of birch plywood. The edges of all tabletops are untreated, open-pored, sanded as well as moisture resistant and resilient. The 21 mm thick MDF tabletop requires supporting rails beneath them because it is not all that sturdy - it will otherwise tend to sag even when spanning over a relatively short distance. This makes them particularly suitable for use with our Y table systems. Compared to this the 26 mm multiplex tabletop can be lain on e.g. a E2 table frame without the need for supporter accessories. Good to knowCare and cleaning of linoleum is best done with special agents like Harell care and cleaning set for linoleum, which can be found in our product assortment. If you want, the edge can be treated and sealed with Biofarben hard oil or work top oil. The colour of the linoleum coating that you see at the time of delivery will change slightly with time. The reason for this is the light yellow “drying-oven film” which will eventually disappear after the coating has been out in the daylight for a number of hours.

Modulor linoleum tabletop with oak edge
Modulor linoleum tabletop with oak edge
from 295,00 €
High-quality yet affordable: the Modulor linoleum table top with oak edge is a convincing alternative to our standard linoleum table top. The workmanship The tabletop core consists of a 25 mm thick, certified and therefore almost pollutant-free raw chipboard, which is covered on the top with 2 mm desktop linoleum from Forbo and on the back with a 0.6 mm thin, black CPL board as a backing to prevent the tabletop from warping. The edge band, made of solid, untreated oak wood, is not applied before the linoleum coating and then finished by hand, as is the case with our standard linoleum tops. Instead, it is applied by machine after the surface and panel core have been glued together. If you look at the table top from above, you can see the narrow wooden edge for this reason. Comfort and properties of linoleum However, none of these manufacturing details change the comfort offered by the natural linoleum made from linseed oil, jute, wood and limestone powder. The lightfast, silk-matt surface has a pleasantly warm feel. The elasticity typical of the material makes the table top a good choice as a writing and drawing surface. The linoleum is also antistatic and extremely forgiving when it comes to the visibility of fingerprints. Two points that benefit you when it comes to caring for your table top. Cleaning and care It is usually sufficient to wipe a linoleum worktop with a soft damp cloth. You can use special cleaning agents to remove dirt. To seal the real wood edges, we recommend treating them with worktop oil before using the worktop. It is then easier to clean them easily with a damp cloth. Choice of colors and sizes When choosing a Modulor linoleum worktop with oak edge, you can choose between the most popular lino colors and sizes: Available are variants in light gray and black in the dimensions 80 x 160 and 90 x 180 cm. Flexible design options Whether you combine your desired version with an E2 table frame or two table trestles is up to you. The table top is so stable that you can easily use it without supporting table frames.

Melamine Table Top

Modulor melamine table top (custom cutting available)
Modulor melamine table top (custom cutting available)
from 125,00 €
Robust and inexpensive. The core of melamine table tops consists of a certified and thus pollutant-free chipboard, which is coated with a synthetic resin, the so-called melamine resin. The table tops have a high dead weight and are very durable. The classic melamine table top has a white surface and a two millimetre thick edge made of real beech wood. A further, very popular and noble variant is the black plate, optionally with black edge made of ABS plastic or also with beech edge. If you like it a little lighter or prefer natural wood structures, you can choose from different shades of grey. The real wood edgings are raw and not surface-treated. However, they can be sealed with hard oil or worktop oil from Biofarben. For tables of any size, but especially for larger tables, the top variant with a thickness of 25 mm is intended. It is self-supporting and can withstand medium to large loads even without supporting frames. The 19 mm thick top requires a table frame with a frame such as table frame Y or table frame M to support it. This thinner table top can easily be placed on the shorter version of the table frame E2 (1000 mm); if it is placed on the longer version (1350 mm), the frame should be stabilised with so-called tabel top supporters. Suitable for the children's table frame E2, we offer the classic in white with beech edge in the dimensions 680 x 1200 mm. Note For technical production reasons, we guarantee at least one faultless A-side of the table tops in the cut to size. Slight impairments of the surface quality of the B-side cannot be ruled out. You are not a reason for complaint. When you receive the table top, please check the surfaces and define the top side before you mount the table frame to the top. More coloured table tops can be found under Linoleum table tops.
