Distinct, minimalist design and a back-relieving 3D chair mechanism that allows active sitting in all directions: the W70 office and conference chair from Wagner convinced us with this rare combination of unobtrusive appearance and excellent ergonomics.
The working chair's worldwide patented three-dimensional seat joint loosens the rigid connection between the seat and the base by allowing it to follow your movements while sitting in any direction. This prevents a sitting posture that remains unchanged for hours and promotes dynamic and muscle-activating sitting. By tensing and relaxing in movement, your back is relieved and strengthened in the long term. This has been proven by long-term studies in 2006 and 2013 with thousands of volunteers.
It's surprising that the W70 cannot be adjusted at all, except in height. That's why we wanted to know whether the W70, which was actually designed as a conference chair, could also be used as an office chair at a desk, and we spent several months trying it out with increasing enthusiasm and decreasing back pain. The only limitation is that the unchangeable seat depth of 46 cm could be too large for people under 1.80 m in height.
Our conclusion:
Despite the fact that the seat cannot be adjusted, the W70 is suitable for taller or long-legged people
a full-fledged, inexpensive office chair that combines convincing ergonomics with an appealingly simple form. Come by and try it out!
