The extremely durable synthetic filaments used in the da Vinci Top-Acryl paintbrushes are designed for use with pasty acrylic and oil paints. The bristles of this flat brush are built into the ferrule in such a way that two curved tufts of bristle, which have matching levels of strength, are set against each other without tension. These brushes will retain their shape even after long and intense use. The so-called filbert shape unites the virtues of both flat and round brushes.
The hexagonal handle, which was developed by da Vinci, has from three to six flattened areas at its thickest point that will prevent the brush from rolling away. These flattened areas are so subtle that when the brush is being used not only will your hand not tire but they will also not hinder the turning motion necessary when shaping the brush tip.
The set consists of one flat, one round and one filbert-shaped paintbrush from the Top-Acryl line.
The Da Vinci Top-Acryl paintbrushes are manufactured in sizes corresponding to international standards. The worldwide standardization of the terms used to describe brush sizes has meant that some of those given by da Vinci will be different. Further below you can download a size chart that shows three different systems in comparison: the da Vinci system, the international standard system and the English/American size system (from top to bottom).
